Really Cool Portable GPS Tracker

This must be one of (if not the) coolest spy gadgets I’ve ever reported on. It’s sort of a cross between a USB memory stick and a GPS receiver and what it does is store where ever you take it on the flash memory.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.

Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.

I just think this is so cool (may of said cool a record number of times in this post) it obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you bore visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.

Full feature list:

•Records time, date, location, speed, direction and altitude

•Works with Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com, Virtual Earth

•Location points are downloaded into its software and then mapped

•Battery duration is 5 to 7 days of typical operation with 4,000 records

•Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included)

•Dimensions: 4″ x 1 1/4″ x 3/4″

•Comes with TrackStick, lanyard, software CD

Cellphone Voice Changer

Come time to call for that ransom, you can’t have the listener recognizing your voice. Now there are all sorts of voice changers for your home phone, but you need something for when you’re on the road. Thankfully, Amazon is to the rescue as always. I haven’t the faintest idea what the practical application would be for a Cellphone Voice Changer, but there could be a perfectly legitimate reason for it. Just in case though, if anyone asks I’d mumble something about it being just some silly cellphone accessory. Most people might frown on you carrying one around.

Since it is a $21 set, it might be more similar to something you’d find at the joke shop as opposed to the secret spy shop. Which might make it better suited for prank calling your friends. You can even keep them on their toes since it has 4 voice change options. It also has an included battery that offers 30 hours of use.

3 Excellent Solutions for Reading At Night

The MARK bookmark is just an excellent concept thought by Avnish Priya Gautnam. During the day, it’s like any other bookmark but at night, glows to illuminate your pages via FOLED (Flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology. The intensity of light can be controlled according to the reader’s requirements. It has won 2007 Design concept award at Red Dot. Not manufactured yet.

The other ones are LightWedge Paperback and LightWedge Mini. Actual very useful real devices for bookworms.

A lighted, distortion-free acrylic lens extends across the book page and emits all the brightness directly onto the book page, reducing shadows and glare. Since the light is emitted directly onto the page, there’s no excess reflection to disturb others nearby.

The LightWedge Paperback is thin and lightweight and easily slips into a backpack, tote bag, or briefcase. Also, when not in use, it is useful as a convenient bookmark stored between a book’s pages. The bright LEDs that illuminate the LightWedge Paperback have two brightness levels and a lifetime warranty. The light can run for 40 hours on four AAA batteries.

The same great LightWedge but now in a smaller and more convenient size. The LightWedge Mini is a perfect light for reading maps, menus, manuals and other materials in the dark.

RC Star Wars lightsaber wall light

Are you a nerd who wants to have some far out mood lighting? That is now made possible thanks to the RC Star Wars lightsaber wall light, where it will cut through the dark of the night with up to 7 different color effects. Good thing a single $25 purchase will feature all seven colors thanks to a remote control that allows you to shift quickly between the dark and light sides of the Force. Too bad you can only place pre-orders at the moment before it ships later this Q3.

Rawlings’ Recordable Autograph Ball

Getting an autograph from your favorite baseball player is something, but how about immortalizing the moment with the Rawlings’ Recordable Autograph Ball? After all, not only does this look like a regular baseball, it features a microphone that will be able to the surroundings of your baseball star while he signs your ball, thanks to internal memory that can store up to 12 seconds’ worth of audio recording. A 1.5″ display helps you place the slugger’s photo, although we would think in this day and age, a tiny digital camera and LCD display would do much better. We wouldn’t want to use this $24.98 baseball on the field though as one nice hit would screw up its internal electronics
